L.A.S.R.: Laser Activated Shot Reporter

After being contacted by MWTS LLC about creating a dryfire training program, it wasn't long until we had a working prototype. Dryfire -- pulling the trigger on a firearm without ammunition, is a recommended way to practice marksmanship fundamentals without expending ammunition. This project's purpose is to bring better feedback to dryfire practice.

Common dryfire training aids emit a laser in place of a bullet. Examples of these training aids include Next Level Training's SIRT pistol and Laser Ammo's SureStrike™ cartridges. LASR uses computer vision and image processing to detect the laser's light on a target area and plot the location of the "hits" on top of the target image. This process enables the application to measure several key performance indicators, store that data, and report the results to the user.

This product is now out of beta and is available to the general public.
